Editor’s note: This podcast with caddie Eric Larson and actor/comedian Tommy Chong originally aired in May 2020. We wanted to revisit it today — hours after Larson was on the winning bag of Harris English in the 2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions at Kapalua’s Plantation Course in Maui. The victory was English’s first since 2013. Larson’s own personal story from PGA Tour caddie to serving time in federal prison and then getting back out on Tour is a remarkable one.
On this week’s ‘Under the Strap’ podcast, host T.J. Auclair welcomes two very special guests — PGA Tour caddie Eric Larson and Tommy Chong from the iconic Cheech & Chong comedy team. Why these two together, you ask? Larson and Chong became friends when they were in federal prison together in the early 2000s and have remained close ever since.
