In certain parts of the country, the temperature is making a steep decline.

In other words – football weather!

So, we’re on to Week 9 of college football season with the biggest battle of the weekend set to take place on Saturday between bitter rivals Georgia and Florida.

Caddies Paul Tesori, Joe Skovron, Matt Minister and Ryan Rue took a good look at the docket and have offered up their respective picks for five, key match ups.

Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech
Spread: Virginia Tech -3

Editor’s Note: This was a Thursday night game.

Tesori’s Pick: Virginia Tech
Why: I’m going with VT in the battle of the Techs solely because it’s a home game.

Skovron’s Pick: Georgia Tech
Why: I think they win 49-28.
Boy, Joe NAILED that one!

Minister’s Pick: Virginia Tech
Why: Virginia Tech with the home-field advantage.

Rue’s Pick: Georgia Tech
Why: Georgia Tech should be able to run all over VT. Yellowjackets win big.

Clemson (2) at Florida State
Spread: Clemson -17

Tesori’s Pick: FSU
Why: The Seminoles are starting to play more consistent football. The Tigers win but won’t cover.

Skovron’s Pick: Clemson
Why: I have a hard time giving 17 to a team with the talent that FSU has, along with playing at home. However, I haven’t watched the Noles play in a while and when you look at common opponents, it makes sense that Clemson will cover. I’ll keep riding Clemson.

Minister’s Pick: Florida State
Why: I know they are outmatched, but I’m seeing home-field and Clemson coming in slow. Too many points to cover.

Rue’s Pick: Clemson
Why: I can’t stand FSU. Going with Clemson.

Wisconsin (20) at Northwestern
Spread: Wisconsin -6.5

Tesori’s Pick: Wisconsin
Why: This line is one of those that just entices you to bet. I feel like the Badgers are a better football team and will win by at least seven!

Skovron’s Pick: Northwestern
Why: The Sharps have bet this down to 4.5. I always side with them. They are called Sharps for a reason.

Minister’s Pick: Northwestern
Why: The Big 10 has been a flip. Wildcats will be up for this one.

Rue’s Pick: Northwestern
Why: Northwestern is playing well. 6-0 against the spread within their conference. I like the Wildcats getting -6.5.

Florida (9) at Georgia (7)
Spread: Georgia -7

Tesori’s Pick: UGA
Why: My Gators keep surprising me, which has made this college football year a lot more enjoyable. Sadly, the Bulldogs are coming off a loss and a bye week. Talent wins out.

Skovron’s Pick: Florida
Why: Florida has won their last five ATS. I think Georgia is a better team, but I like Florida keeping this rivalry game close.

Minister’s Pick: Georgia
Why: Go Dawgs!

Rue’s Pick: Florida
Why: The Dawgs are hurting on the offensive line with some of their guys banged up. The Gator defense will keep them in the game. I just hope the offense joins the party too.

Washington St. (14) at Stanford (24)
Spread: Stanford -3

Tesori’s Pick: Washington State
Why: This game should be close throughout. Two evenly matched teams, but WSU seems to be believing more and more.

Skovron’s Pick: Washington State
Why: Most years I wouldn’t pick against Stanford, but they don’t look the same as usual. The Cougs are rolling after that loss to USC with good wins against Utah and Oregon. The only thing that worries me is that this is on the road. I’m gonna trust Mike Leach here.

Minister’s Pick: Washington State
Why: I haven’t been impressed with Stanford and I see the Huskies riding momentum.

Rue’s Pick: Washington State
Why: Mike Leach! Love the coach and the team is playing well. Go Cougars.
