Week 8: College football caddie picks

There have been upsets galore in the last few weeks on the gridiron.
Will that trend continue has we hit Week 8 of college football season?
Caddies Paul Tesori, Joe Skovron Ryan Rue and Matt Minister have looked into their respective crystal balls to evaluate five, key match ups this weekend.
RELATED: Week 7 NFL picks with caddie Joe Skovron
Here’s a look at who they like and why…
Auburn at Ole Miss
Spread: Auburn -4
Tesori’s Pick: Auburn
Why: The Tigers have to be angry. I can’t imagine what that practice field looked like this last week after the loss to Tennessee.
Skovron’s Pick: Auburn
Why: Coming off two tough losses and going on the road, but Ole Miss has lost to their only two quality opponents.
Rue’s Pick: Ole Miss
Why: Auburn has kinda stumbled lately and Ole Miss at home is tough. Statistically, Ole Miss has them beat on paper. The Rebels win big here.
Minister’s Pick: Auburn
Why: Auburn. They’re coming in angry with something to prove.
Michigan (6) at Michigan State (24)
Spread: Michigan -7
Tesori’s Pick: Michigan
Why: It’ll be a tight one and may end up being a push with the points. This is Harbaugh’s last year with the recruits he didn’t bring in. Excuses are almost gone.
Skovron’s Pick: Michigan
Why: Tough to give seven in a game like this, but Michigan State is coming off a huge upset over Penn State and has looked a bit shaky at times this year. Harbaugh has that train rolling at Michigan.
Rue’s Pick: Michigan
Why: The Wolverines are putting points up on the board. I know it’s a rivalry, but Michigan is a better football team and only giving seven.
Minister’s Pick: Michigan State
Why: This one is easy for me. Michigan State because I HATE the Wolverines.
NC State (16) at Clemson (3)
Spread: Clemson -17
Tesori’s Pick: NC State
Why: This is another game that may end up being a push. I’m going to take the road team because they are too good to not cover or at least halve.
Skovron’s Pick: Clemson
Why: Seventy-one percent of bettors on the Wolfpack, yet the line has gone up to 18 at this point. That’s good enough for me to take Clemson.
Rue’s Pick: NC State
Why: NC State has played Clemson tough the last few years. Seventeen points seems like a lot. I think the Wolfpack can keep it within 10.
Minister’s Pick: Clemson
Why: Clemson. It’s time for them to put up a big win for the committee.
Alabama (1) at Tennessee
Spread: Alabama -29.5
Tesori’s Pick: Tennessee
Why: What am I doing here? Alabama is human right? They can make mistakes, right? I don’t know if either are true, but 30 points are just too much.
Skovron’s Pick: Tennessee
Why: I hate picking against Alabama. They are dominant, but as far as I know, Tua hasn’t played a fourth quarter this year and they are 1-3 against the spread in their last four games.
Rue’s Pick: Alabama
Why: Tennessee is an awful. That 29.5 is a bunch to give, but… Roll Tide.
Minister’s Pick: Alabama
Why: Alabama. I don’t pick against the best team in the country.
Oregon (12) at Washington State (25)
Spread: Washington State -1
Tesori’s Pick: Oregon
Why: This is a shocker to me. Oregon looks to be hitting a nice stride and seen on paper to be a two-field goal favorite. Those buildings in Vegas didn’t build themselves so I’m sure it’ll be a field-goal game either way.
Skovron’s Pick: Washington State
Why: This line makes no sense to me. I think Oregon is a very good football team, but it’s moved to -3 at this point because of sharp action on the Cougs. I’ll take Leach and his boys giving one at home.
Rue’s Pick: Washington State
Why: Mike Leach! Oregon has put up some points this year, but I don’t think they win. Cougars win.
Minister’s Pick: Washingston State
Why: WSU. They have game and a lot of home-field hype. I’m going with it.
