The back nine in the final round of the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale were among the most captivating you’ll ever see.
It was there where Jordan Spieth battled with Matt Kuchar. Kuchar took the lead for the first time all day when Spieth made an all-world bogey from the driving range on the 13th hole.
But then… Kuchar was the victim of an all-time buzz saw.
Spieth proceeded to play the next four holes in an astounding 5-under par with three birdies and an eagle. He would par the final hole to win the tournament by three strokes over Kuchar.
Ahead of this year’s Open Championship at Carnoustie, caddies Michael Greller (Spieth) and John Wood (Kuchar) sat down for a chat with long-time caddie to Phil Mickelson and current NBC commentator Jim “Bones” Mackay for a tremendous sit-down interview on Golf Channel to relive what happened in the 2017 Open Championship.
