Players Championship Caddie Competition results and social musings
Every Wednesday of Players Championship week, the caddies get to take their crack at the famous par-3 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass.
This year’s winner of the annual Caddie Competition, which benefits the Bruce Edwards Foundation (Edwards was the longtime caddie of Tom Watson, who died in 2004 after a battle with ALS), was Danny Sahl, caddie for Vijay Singh.
Sahl hit an incredible shot to 4 feet, 3 inches.
CADDIE LINE: Here are the caddie picks for the 2019 Players Championship
Jose Campra (Scott Piercy) and Michael Greller (Jordan Spieth) tied for second with shots hit to 8 feet, 10 inches. Tim Tucker (Bryson DeChambeau) finished fourth with a shot that settled 9 feet, 2 inches from the hole, while James Edmondson (Ryan Palmer) finished fifth with a shot that came to rest 9 feet, 5 inches from the hole.
Those five caddies were the only ones who came within 10 feet of the cup.
In total, 82 caddies hit a tee shot on 17… 31 one of those ended up in the water.
Here’s a look at the complete top 10:

Today at The Players Championship there is a caddie challenge — closest-to-the-pin on 17 with a pretty solid prize – and Corey Conners’ caddie isn’t screwing around: went to the driving range last night and is bringing his own club.

What caddie will add his name to this year’s Players Caddie Competition?! Winning caddie receives all the cash in the box (player donations) a commemorative pin but MOST importantly… winner gets the best parking spot on sight! https://t.co/we6JYDwLRj pic.twitter.com/sNt2ErkQ05

PGA Tour should publish Caddy ‘s name with the Pro on Timesheet for all events .
Just like the runners and riders for a horse race .
PGA Tour.com website should contain each Caddy’s C.V.
