Hilarious caddie legend Billy Foster shares incredible Seve Ballesteros stories
Billy Foster is one of the great caddie characters in the game’s history.
The longtime European Tour caddie – currently with Matthew Fitzpatrick – has walked the fairways with, among others, Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke, Sergio Garcia and the legendary Seve Ballesteros.
Seve is the focus of this post.
In a Twitter post Friday morning from @GOLFTV, Foster tells the story of the time in 1990 when – living at home with his parents – he received a letter in the mail from Ballesteros requesting his caddying services.
As Foster explains, the letter starts out short, complimentary and sweet before getting directly to the point with Seve saying, “Now let me tell you my conditions”:

On Thursday, @GOLFTV shared another widely known story amongst caddies regarding Seve and Foster, but one that fans may not have been privy to.
In it, Foster recounts the famous story of Seve, Nick Price and the fruitcake.
We’ll let Foster take it from here.

Billy Foster: world-class caddie and world-class storyteller.
And here’s one last Foster gem from back in June of 2018, where he tells the story of a trip to the men’s room at the 2006 Ryder Cup in Ireland where he encountered a – how do you say – “panicked” Tiger Woods.

We could listen to Foster tell stories all day long.
