The final event of the 2018-19 PGA Tour regular season tees off on Thursday with the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C.

This is the last opportunity for players to either improve their spot, solidify their spot, or play their way into a spot among the top 125 in the FedExCup standings to qualify for the playoffs, which begin next week with The Northern Trust at Liberty National.

With plenty on the line, which caddies should you be paying close attention to this week at Sedgefield? We asked three caddies on the ground just that. Here are their predictions for a solid week in steamy Greensboro…

Caddie 1

  1. Scott Piercy. “He’s played well all season long. He enters the Wyndham at No. 26 in the FedEx standings. He’s been knocking on the door all year long, evidenced by his six, top-10 finishes, the best of which was a T2 at the Nelson. Sedgefield is a ball striker’s course. You’ve got to be accurate off the tee and with your approaches into those greens. That suits Piercy well. The guy is just due for a win.”
  2. Shawn Stefani. “I like him for a top 10 this week because his back is against the wall. It’s a position he’s been in before and managed to pull through. He starts the week at 134 in the FedEx standings, just outside the top 125 to get into the playoffs. He’s got all the incentive in the world to have a big week. Shawn can be a streaky player – he’s missed the cut in 10 of his 24 starts this season – but I like the fact that he’s starting this week with his longest cuts made streak of the season (five in a row). He knows what he’s got to do to make the playoffs.”
  3. John Chin. “Last week’s T3 at the Barracuda was huge for John. His next-best finish this season was a T21 in Puerto Rico back in February. Now, he’s safely inside the top 200 (184) in the FedEx standings, which means he can go to the Korn Ferry Finals. I think that will probably free him up to play loose. Just let it go out there this week and see what happens.”

Caddie 2

  1. Brandt Snedeker. “Snedeker is the defending champ here and even shot a sensational 59 on this course a year ago. He’s played some solid golf throughout the summer. Before a missed cut at the Open Championship, he hadn’t missed the cut since the Masters. Along with last year’s victory, he also finished T3 here in 2016 and T5 in 2014. Good vibes for Snedeker this week. Plus, at No. 32 in FedEx standings, he’s already safely in the top 125.”
  2. Matt Wolff. “This will be just his seventh PGA Tour event as a pro. He’s already won once and even qualified for the 64-player field last week in the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, where he tied for 24th. He too is safely into the playoffs at 69th in the standings. I expect to see more aggressive golf from Wolff, as well as a run at East Lake for the Tour Championship.”
  3. Martin Kaymer. “The two-time major champion is on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs, as he currently sits at No. 146 in the FedEx standings. He’s playing this week with his back against the wall and will need a special four days to keep his season alive. He has two, top-20 finishes in his only two starts here, which is good, but it’s going to take a top 6 or 7 finish to advance. I think he’s got it in him.”

Caddie 3

  1. Austin Cook. “It’s a massive week for Cook. He’s currently sitting at No. 126 in the FedEx standings, right on the bubble. It looks like he might be out of the funk that led to four consecutive missed cuts in June and the start of July and should be riding high on confidence after a T4 at the Barbasol – his best finish this season – and the 63 he fired in the third round there.”
  2. Jordan Spieth. “He’s oh-so close. A win is coming soon for Spieth. Why not this week?”
  3. Viktor Hovland. “Surely eager to make his first Tour start since a T16 at the John Deere Classic. Matt Wolff is already a Tour winner. Collin Morikawa won just last week in Reno. Why not make it a third winner 21 or younger in a month?”
