Local knowledge can be invaluable at any given PGA Tour venue. For veteran caddies, it’s not as important, because chances are they’ve seen these venues many times over the years. But when it comes to the majors — three of which are played at different courses each year — it’s not uncommon for tour caddies to seek out local caddies for insight on the course.

Do you ever seek out local caddies for insight on the course and places to check out in that particular city?

Only in majors — the venues that are tougher and we don’t see year in year out. This is particularly the case at Open Championships.
