Will Zalatoris is leading the PGA Championship after two rounds. The Caddie Network’s John Rathouz caught up with Zalatoris caddie Ryan Goble on Friday night after Zalatoris fired a 65. Zalatoris sits at 9-under par for the tournament, good for a one-stroke lead heading into the weekend.
Goble is caddying the PGA Championship for Zalatoris, who is chasing his first major win. Zalatoris finished second at the Masters in April and T-8 in last year’s PGA at Kiawah Island. Enjoying some “veg time” after some tasty Mexican food on Friday night in Tulsa, Okla., Goble discusses the following topics with Rathouz:
- Why Zalatoris has been so on point with his putter at Southern Hills. (Zalatoris is No. 1 in Shots Gained: Putting through two rounds at the PGA)
- How Zalatoris has been able to step up his game on the biggest stages, with three Top 10 finishes at majors in the past 12 months
- What it’s like playing in a group behind Tiger Woods at a major and the fun-but-focused approach Zalatoris favors
- Playing in the final group on Saturday and how Zalatoris will play the golf course as the guy everyone is chasing
