Together, Martin Kaymer and Craig Connelly won the 2010 PGA Championship, as well as the 2014 Players Championship and U.S. Open.
But, as Connelly noted in a tweet, “all good things come to an end.”

The website www.bunkered.co.uk reported on Thursday that Connelly confirmed the split via text message, adding that it had been “completely amicable.”

Connelly helped Kaymer reach the No. 1-ranking in the world for an eight-week period in 2011. The duo had a brief break up in 2012, before reuniting.
Kaymer’s golf game has fallen on hard times of late. The 33-year-old from Germany, missed time before the Masters due to a wrist injury. He’s plunged from No. 72 to No. 146 in the world rankings and finished this season 213th in the FedEx Cup standings with just 11 PGA Tour starts.
When the Ryder Cup is played at Le Golf National in France later this month, it will be the first time that Kaymer – who holed the winning put for the Europeans at Medinah in 2012 – is not a part of the European squad.
