Teaming up for plenty of fun in NOLA

The PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans is always a fan favorite due to its unique format as two players pair up to take on the field. Caddies and players alike also love this event, which has evolved into quite the spectacle over the years.

One of the coolest features of the event is the walk-up music for each team as they head to the first tee. Teams are able to choose whatever music they’d like, and as caddie Aaron Flener showed, sometimes this means taking matters into your own hands.

Having the inside scoop on TPC Louisiana is the key to helping your player perform well this week. Caddie David Flynn shared his thoughts on the course prior to Thursday’s opening round.

Things got off to a soggy start last week, however, as heavy rains saturated TPC Louisiana ahead of the first round. Teams were forced to batten down the hatches in the course’s locker and grill rooms as they waited for the weather to clear, which allowed long-time coworkers a chance to catch up.

Unfortunately the first round ended up being a complete wash-out, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your perspective.

Perhaps the guy who had the most fun this week, however, was TCN contest winner Maury Hodgens, who experienced the tournament like no one else thanks to a little help from new friends.
