Ryder Cup gifts, trophy selfies and Piers Morgan’s wild ride

The new PGA Tour season teed off last week at the Safeway Open, however much of the golf world was still talking about the aftermath of the 2018 Ryder Cup. There’s something to be said about how the European and United States teams decided to “celebrate” afterwards: the former, with class; the latter, not so much.

Believe it or not, there were some positive things posted on social media about the week in Paris! For example, Bubba Watson’s caddie, Ted Scott, arrived home to this gift from U.S. captain Jim Furyk and wife Tabitha. Not a bad memento of one’s Ryder Cup experience, eh?

On the European side, the other featured caddie from last week’s article, Mark Fulchers, captured a special moment with his boss Justin Rose and the Cup:

This was obviously captured long before Rose’s night took a wild turn, which was also captured and posted on social by a party attendee. I don’t know about you, but drinking out of a long-used trophy isn’t my idea of a good time.

Meanwhile, the European Tour was back in action at this week’s Alfred Dunhill Links. A unique event that includes some of the biggest names in golf and entertainment — not to mention golf courses — the Dunhill Links is always a fan favorite.

This year’s event included the highly polarizing political commentator Piers Morgan, for whom working would undoubtedly be a caddie’s worst nightmare thanks to shots like this.

Don’t give up your day job, Piers.
