Kerr-Dineen: 4 caddies who totally won the internet this week

Busy week in the caddie world. Lots going on, both on and off the course, but a few caddies came through it all with flying colors. So let’s give credit where it’s due, and give a few shoutouts to the best caddies on the internet this week.

Travis McAlister’s Pledge 

First off, shoutout to Travis McAlister for his total commitment to his craft. He’s not just putting his body to work every day — he’s willing to sacrifice his own hair.

His player, Maverick McNealy, is in the midst of a solid-if-unspectacular season on the Web.com Tour. Two top 10s — including a T-3 finish during April’s United Leasing & Finance Championship — leaves him 47th on the Money List. Enter McAlister, who has pledged to shave his head if McNealy shoots a 63 or lower. Here’s hoping McNealy fires a low score to #MakeTmacBaldAgain

Speaking of Hair…

 My goodness, look at the glorious locks on Curtis Luck’s caddie. On a scale of 1 to 10? I’d say a solid 11.

It’s Coming Home!

For as good as the golf was this weekend, it was soccer that consumed the hearts and minds of sports fans everywhere. Specifically, English soccer fans, which includes Justin Rose’s caddie Mark Fulcher.

Fulcher, a fun follow on Twitter ordinarily, kicked it into high gear over the weekend. He live-tweeted England’s 2-0 victory over Sweden that sent the country to its first World Cup semi-final since 1990. His analysis was perfection, his emoji use impeccable, and his analysis astute, employing varieties to the words “Yes!” and “Get in!”

A Career-Defining Moment

For some caddies, helping players onto their first win is the best moment of their career. Some prefer looking back to a major win, or something entirely different altogether. Maybe it was a specific round. Or certain shot. Or maybe it was their first day on the job.

For Geno Bonnalie, Joel Dahmen’s caddie, it was that special moment on the first tee on Saturday at the Quicken Loans National. Nothing to do with his player, of course. It was his magical handshake with Dahman’s playing partner, Tiger Woods…

Seriously though, can you blame him? Dahmen certainly didn’t.
