Being a player — or caddie — on the PGA Tour certainly comes with some perks. Among them? Free swag/equipment every now and again. But, with all the travel, there are also some headaches that come with a life spent chasing the sun. Here, a caddie tells us about some of the best perks and the biggest annoyance.

How much free stuff do you get and what’s a random expense that annoys you?

I haven’t paid retail price for golf equipment since I started caddying and most of the equipment we get are hand-me-downs. Usually we receive clothing from the player’s sponsor, but it all depends on who you work for as to what and how much you get. But when that stuff does happen, it’s awfully nice.

The most annoying thing for me, easily, are airline change fees.
