Caddies hitting the jackpot while in Las Vegas at the Shriners Children’s Open

On Sunday, the caddie for the winning player of the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas will earn the standard 10 percent of $1.44 million. That’s $144,000 (not to mention their weekly salary). But already before the weekend, there’s one caddie who has locked up better than second-place money on one pull of the slot machine.

Chatter in the caddie yard this week has led back to the fortuitous looper who cashed in over $116,000 the same day he was pulling clubs for his pro in a practice round. He forwarded the picture on to the Caddie Network. But he’s not the only one!

Another caddie is rumored to be up over $80,000 gambling so far this week which would easily top second-place money – that’s winning!

But like all good things that come in threes, the caddie cleanup started last Sunday when Brett Swedberg, caddie for Max McGreevy, converted a $3 fantasy football lineup into $15,000. Messaging with the Caddie Network, Swedberg said he was leading the contest, which would have banked him $100,000, until Josh Jacobs, RB for of all teams, the Las Vegas Raiders, scored a late fourth-quarter touchdown to bump him into fourth place out of 560,000 entries!

“My wife couldn’t believe it!,” Swedberg said.

Neither can we Brett, neither can we. But it’s always great to see caddies hauling in cash. Stay tuned to find out which caddie takes home the biggest prize at TPC Summerlin on Sunday afternoon.
