Caddie Line: 2021 Genesis Invitational Saturday-Sunday rounds best bets and predictions

Sixty-seven players made the 36-hole cut in the 2021 Genesis Invitational, which fell at even-par 142, and Sam Burns takes an impressive five-stroke lead into the weekend at 12 under, with world No. 1 Dustin Johnson, Jason Kokrak, Joaquin Niemann and Tyler McCumber making up the foursome that’s tied for second at 7 under.

Jordan Spieth is playing well yet again and will start weekend play six strokes back at 7 under.

Our resident expert, longtime Tour caddie John Rathouz, notes that Burns has had leads after 36 and 54 holes, respectfully, but has yet to close the deal on the PGA Tour. Does that all change this weekend at Riviera Country Club thanks to that commanding lead?

2021 Genesis Invitational Saturday-Sunday Best Bets

These are the golfers we like this week when looking at their odds of winning, current form and fit at Riviera.

– Sam Burns, +200
– Joaquin Niemann, +1000
– Jordan Spieth, +1400
– Jason Kokrak, +1800

As you’ll see in the video above, Rathouz is on a roll this week with 11 of his 12 early week picks advancing to the weekend at Riv. Spieth is certainly trending in the right direction with solid play of late and Johnson just isn’t letting up.

If you’re looking for a couple of players who might not be at the top of your radar, Rathouz says to keep an eye on Niemann and Kokrak.

Rathouz will be back early next week with his picks and predictions for the WGC-Workday Championship at The Concession. Check back at The Caddie Line homepage each week for those best bets and fades, plus power rankings from Brian Mull.
